Your protection is our priority.
At MECU, security, protection from fraud, and personal privacy are a top priority. That’s why we created the MECU Total Protection Guarantee. It is our pledge to you to safeguard your funds and your privacy.
100% Fraud Coverage –If any unauthorized transactions occur on your MECU accounts due to usage of our online or automated phone services, or fraudulent ATM, VISA check card, or VISA credit card signature transactions, we guarantee that your liability will be zero dollars ($0.00).
Complete Bill Payment Protection – When you use online bill payment, you can rest assured that your bills will be paid accurately and on time. We take great care to ensure that all your payments are processed exactly as requested. In the unlikely event that your payment is not sent as instructed and we cannot swiftly resolve the problem, we will provide you with a complete reimbursement of the payment and any related late fees or finance charges.
Advanced Online Account Security – Our advanced security measures include 128-bit encryption on our Web site, the highest level of protection for Internet communications and financial transactions. In addition, we require the use of unique member numbers and alphanumeric passwords to prevent unauthorized access to your account.
Additionally, not only will you have to enter your account number and password, but as an added layer of enhanced security, your login includes a unique picture and passphrase chosen by you. This enhanced security will ensure that you're logging on to your accounts at www.mecunet.org, not a 'spoofed' website.
Federal Share Insurance Plus Additional Private Share Insurance – MECU provides you with the highest combination of federal and private share insurance available. Federal share insurance (through the National Credit Union Administration, a U.S. Government Agency) covers savings up to $250,000 until December 31, 2013, with Individual Retirement Accounts insured separately to $250,000. Through Excess Share Insurance (ESI), a subsidiary of American Share Insurance (ASI), the nation's largest private deposit insurer, an additional $250,000 of coverage is provided.
Protecting Your Privacy – We value the trust you have placed in us to protect your personal information. We consistently strive to go above and beyond the legal requirements that we are required to follow. We never sell any information about you to any third parties. We only disclose information about you with financial service providers with whom we have agreements. These service providers act on our behalf and have agreed in writing to keep the member information we provide them confidential. You may read our Privacy Statement to learn more.
Your Responsibilities
